Blu

Nope. I did not misspell the color … Nor did I misspell it in the name of the variety we are calling SkyeBlu here in VT Alchemy creations. Blu, as you have hopefully figured out is one of our two Parrotlettes. These are the worlds smallest species of parrots and as a bird family, have worked their way into the fabric of our being. Blu was a bit of a rescue and quickly became “bonded” to our daughter (Kayleigh). The two of them were quickly inseperable and both were a welcome site in the garden. Blu loved all things people and his bird brother Skye. He wanted nothing more than to snuggle behind Kayleigh’s hair or steal a nip of your pasta … or your toe.

Sadly, yesterday, Blu passed away. We are heartbroken but very glad that our lives came together for the time that they did. We are all better people for having had him in our lives. Breakfasts will never be the same without my toast stealing feathered friend. My daughter can sleep later on the weekends because he will not be there to jump off my finger and onto her cheek to wake her up. He will be missed, but will live on in the tomatoes he was such a big part of creating and eating. Fly high my friend.
