Segregate #1 "Sam's Envious Heart"

$0.00

Several years ago I was actively ignoring friend requests from this person I did not know. I forget how we finally connected, but after assuring me that she was genuinely interested in my work, we exchange a few messages and some new to each of us varieties. As a breeder, you always have segregates that are/were interesting but for some reason did not measure up just waiting to see the light of day. These are often unstable and fun to work with. Of all the things I sent Sam that winter, there were some seeds from a cross I had made of Prime x King Aramis.

After sending Sam seeds, I tasked her with finding something new and fun. This cross has already produced a couple of fun things so I was confident there was at least one more segregate in there somehwhere. Sam quickly found that this selection was a keeper. She has grown it for a couple years now, further stabilizing the color and flavor. She has found it to be largely crack resistant and with decent sized fruit on dwarf plants. I find the coloring to be quite fascinating and am excited to have it in my garden in 2026.
